Maryland Breast Implant

Maryland women who desire larger breasts may consider a breast implant procedure. Breast implants may also be a solution for women who have one breast that appears larger or smaller then the other.

Most breast implants are made of round shaped silicone (rubber) shells, and more commonly filled with saline solution (salt water). The use of saline implants in breast enlargement procedures in Maryland has increased because the saline solution used to fill the implant is similar to the natural fluids in your body, and can be absorbed by your body if they should leak or break.

How breast implants are used

The breast implant can be placed under the Pectoralis muscle, known as Sub Muscular. Or, the implant can be placed on top of the muscle, but still under the breast gland, also known as Sub Glandular. If the implant being used is saline, it is inserted empty, allowing for the use of a very small incision, and then filled once in place. If the implant chosen is Silicone, which typically feels and usually looks more natural, the scar must be slightly larger as the implant is inserted prefilled and sealed at the factory.
