Perlane® is an injectable dermal filler which restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds (the lines from your nose to the corner of your mouth). Perlane® is made from non-animal hyaluronic acid; therefore, it poses no risk of an allergic reaction and can be injected without pre- testing. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in your skin but diminishes with age resulting in the skin losing volume and increasing your chances of wrinkles and folds.

Perlane® is primarily the same product as Restylane® but contains larger gel particles and is intended to be injected deeper in the skin for those deeper wrinkles and lines such as the nasolabial folds or the marionette lines (the lines from the corner of the mouth to the chin) while Restylane® is better suited for smaller wrinkles such as the vertical lines that form around the lips. The result of Perlane® injections tends to last up to9 months while Restylane® lasts up to 6 months.
